FAIRPORT, NY — The Rochester Jr. Americans are pleased to announce they have tendered 6’4″ forward J.J. Lemieux.
Lemieux most recently served as team captain for Taft School, a private boarding school in Connecticut. He is a power forward with a scoring touch. In 26 games this past season, he tallied 17 goals, 20 assists for 37 points. The year before he had six goals and four assist for 10 points in 21 games.
As a 2003 birth year, this is Lemieux’s one and only year of eligibility in the NAHL. As of right now, he is uncommitted.
The Jr. Amerks hope that his experience, hockey maturity, and scoring ability help lead the team in their inaugural season.
A tender is a contract, of sorts, a player signs announcing his intentions to play for that particular NAHL team and that NAHL team only. Once a player signs a tender with an NAHL team, his playing rights belong to that team within the NAHL and he may not be recruited by any other NAHL team. Each team is granted ten (10) tenders – plus or minus any trades – which become active on Nov. 1. Tendered players are not eligible for the NAHL draft.
The Jr. Amerks are excited to tender J.J. and wish him congratulations!
