FAIRPORT, NY — The Rochester Jr. Americans announced they have tendered defenseman Jack Kennedy.
Kennedy, listed at 5’10”, is a skilled offensive-defenseman who can move the puck. He most recently played at Avon Old Farms School, recording 21 points in 28 games. Avon Old Farms is a college prep boarding school located in Avon, Connecticut. As a hockey program they have won nine New England Championships.
Kennedy was born in 2004, giving him two seasons of NAHL eligibility if necessary.
A tender is a contract, of sorts. A player signs announcing his intentions to play for that particular NAHL team and that NAHL team only. Once a player signs a tender with an NAHL team, his playing rights belong to that team within the NAHL and he may not be recruited by any other NAHL team. Each team is granted ten (10) tenders – plus or minus any trades – which become active on Nov. 1. Tendered players are not eligible for the NAHL draft.
The Jr. Amerks are proud to welcome Jack and would like to wish him congratulations!
