FAIRPORT, NY — The Rochester Jr. Americans are proud to welcome defenseman Dexter Kichline after his tender signing was announced Thursday afternoon.
Kichline comes from the Bishop Kearney Selects program, which is located in Rochester, New York. While playing with the Selects 18U AAA, Kichline tallied 11 points in 43 games this past season. According to Elite Prospects, he is listed at 6’0″ and 190 lbs. He was born in Henderson, Nevada.
The Bishop Kearney Selects have had plenty of recent success, in both winning and developing young players. In 2022 they won the 14U, 15O and 18U New York State Championships. In that same year, they won the 16U National Championship.
Kichline was born in 2005, giving him three seasons of NAHL eligibility if necessary.
A tender is a contract, of sorts. A player signs announcing his intentions to play for that particular NAHL team and that NAHL team only. Once a player signs a tender with an NAHL team, his playing rights belong to that team within the NAHL and he may not be recruited by any other NAHL team. Each team is granted ten (10) tenders – plus or minus any trades – which become active on Nov. 1. Tendered players are not eligible for the NAHL draft.
The Jr. Amerks are proud to welcome Dexter and would like to wish him congratulations!
