FAIRPORT, N.Y. — A second Swede has signed their tender with the Rochester Jr. Americans. Soon-to-be 20 year old defenseman Anton Jäderberg is headed to overseas to compete for a spot in the NAHL.
Jäderberg is a puck-moving defenseman who has played a significant amount of junior hockey, most recently serving as alternate captain with Mora IK J20. He tallied 16 points in 44 games this past season.
Prior to his time with Mora IK, he played with the Nacka IK organization for multiple years.
Being born in 2004, this upcoming season will be his one and only year of eligibility in the NAHL. He is expected to join a defense corps that already has majority of it’s players returning, including Liam Chapman, Dexter Kichline, Mitch Kneidel, Alex Zakrzewski, Jordin Palmer, and Jacob Reese.
A tender is a contract, of sorts. A player signs announcing his intentions to play for that particular NAHL team and that team only. Once a player signs a tender with an NAHL team, his playing rights belong to that team within the NAHL and he may not be recruited by any other team. Each team is granted ten (10) tenders – plus or minus any trades. Tendered players are not eligible for the NAHL draft.
The Jr. Amerks are pumped to have Anton and would like to wish him congratulations!
