Kyle Cannillo
Director Of Media and Marketing
Kyle Cannillo returns to the Rochester Jr. Americans for his third season in the NAHL to serve as the team’s Director of Media and Marketing. In his front office role, he has a plethora of responsibilities including broadcasting all home and away games, social media, marketing, game day operations, community relations, managing staff, website, and more. He prides himself on being incredibly well-rounded. In their inaugural season, Cannillo led the Americans to amongst the highest attendance in the NAHL.
With each call, his passion for play-by-play is clear. He engages the audience with storytelling, information, and unmatched energy. For his work, the NAHL selected him out of 35 teams to serve as broadcaster for the NAHL All-Star Top Prospects Tournament. Prior to the Jr. Amerks, Cannillo worked for the Chippewa Steel also in the NAHL. His marketing efforts helped double the team’s attendance from the previous season.
He went to Penn State University where he was one of the schools lead play-by-play broadcasters for two Division I hockey teams. He called games on both Big Ten Network Plus and the campus radio station. He’s called high profile events including the NFL Draft live from Las Vegas, Penn State football’s marquee home and away games, and the NCAA Women’s Frozen Four National Championship.
In addition, he’s gained vast experience in social/digital media, including internships with Showtime Sports and Paramount based out of New York City.
It has always been Kyle’s mission to be authentic, create memorable experiences, and make an impact in the community. Still 24 years old, Kyle knows his development in sports broadcasting is just starting, and he is excited to improve for years to come.
Karen Neri
Billet Coordinator
Karen’s experience hosting exchange students has provided her with valuable insight into the needs and concerns of young athletes who are living away from their families. She understands the importance of creating a supportive and welcoming environment and works tirelessly to ensure that all billet families are equipped to provide the best possible care to the players they host.
In addition to her billet coordination duties, Karen also has experience in managing and coordinating hockey tournaments. Her organizational skills and attention to detail make her an invaluable asset to the team, as she ensures that all logistical details are taken care of and that the events run smoothly.
Karen’s background in the medical field also informs her work with the team as she is well-versed in player’s health and safety. She is always up to date on the latest best practices and protocols and is quick to address any concerns that arise.
Finally, Karen’s work in the Pittsford School District has given her experience in assisting students and teachers, and she brings this same level of dedication and commitment to her work with the Rochester Junior Americans. Her passion for supporting young people and her unwavering commitment to excellence make her an invaluable member of the team.
